Vic Culp - Executive Director
Race Managment Experience

Since co-founding the Fredericksburg Area Running Club in 1994, Vic has assisted in all areas of Race Management to include Race Director, Finish Line Manager and Results Processor. He has produced final results for the last 13 Great Train Races and 137 Grand Prix Races. In 1996, he wrote the software FARC used in results processing and has maintained the historical results database since that time. During the past 14 years, he has measured for USATF certification over 60 courses in the Fredericksburg Region, including the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon. With the Fredericksburg Area Running Club, he has served as president for 2 years, treasurer for 6 years and director for 2 years.

Running Resume

He is a dedicated long distance runner, having finished over 50 Marathons and 20 Ultra-Marathons. He has finished the JFK 50 Mile Run for the past 13 years and completed the Old Dominion 100 Mile Run in 1999. A 1/4 miler and high jumper in high school in the early 70s, he returned to serious training to compete in the 1993 Marine Corps Marathon and has not cut back on training since, running hundreds of shorter races, Rogaines and Orienteering events (though he has slowed down a bit). In 2007, he placed 12th in the United States Sprint Orienteering Championship's 50 to 54 year old age group.

Work History

He retired from full time work of developing, installing and managing software systems for retailers in 2007 to concentrate his efforts on Race Timing Unlimited. During his 29 year IT career, he worked for 7 years as a CIO for a mid size retailer and created a Sales Forecasting and Replenishment software package that was implemented at over 20 retailers in North America. He is considered a guru of retail replenishment systems.

Education

He earned an MBA from the University of Richmond in 1988 and holds a BS in Commerce with a double major in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of Virginia.

Family

He has two grown daughters and one grandchild.
